Agnes (Nan) Millar Bowlby (nee: Don) March 24, 1928 - August 15, 2022 died peacefully at her care home with her family at her side. Her family will cherish forever her humor, creativity, unending support and Scottish expressions. She will be remembered by her new friends and caregivers for her wit and feistiness. Her artistic flare, passion for gardening and her joie de vivre were gifts to all of us.
Daughter of Thomas Robert Don and Elizabeth Corral Don (nee: Dorward). Twin sister of Margaret Hood Walsh (William J.) and sister to Charles Don (Helen).
Mother of Jen Bowlby (Jocelyne Bourque), Chris Bowlby, Carey (Bert) Mollenhauer, John Bowlby and four-legged family member, Lucie.
Grandmother of Caitie Mollenhauer, Mike Mollenhauer, Mimosa Palmberg and Leif Palmberg. Great grandmother of Kayin Dennis and Maple Dennis.
Loving Aunt to Heather Gardiner, Lesley Moxley, Allyn Walsh, Jim Walsh, Bob Walsh and Carol Baum.
Nan was a graduate of the Hamilton General Hospital School of Nursing class of 1950. She enjoyed her training and kept in touch with her classmates, attending the 60th reunion in Hamilton in 2010. She returned to nursing after raising her four children and finally retired from a public health nursing position.
Special thanks to the care and support provided to Nan at home by the community health workers, home care nurses and case managers. Thank you to staff at the Glacier View Lodge Adult Day Program for her many years of fun. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at the Views who provided such kind and compassionate care that optimized Nan's quality of life. Thanks to Dr. Wainberg for his excellent medical care.
No service by request. A special family gathering will be held at a later date.
