Adriano Giuseppe Michael Stellario LaFauci

1978-2021 ~ Adriano LaFauci was a real Canadian Joe. An outdoor adventurer with an infectious zest for life, this bright light was extinguished suddenly and unexpectedly, filling our hearts with sadness.
Adriano was born in Nanaimo, B.C. in 1978 and spent several years in Qualicum Beach before moving to Parksville. He spent the majority of his upbringing in the castle at Paradise Mini Golf with his two younger brothers Marcello and Antonio, and his parents Susan and Giuseppe (Joseph).
There were many happy memories made with family and cousins at his Grandparent's homes (Michael and Joan Jiggins), at Arranglen Lodge and at Arrowsmith Golf Course. Cousins fondly remember playing Mini Golf after hours, and battling it out in the World Croquet Championships.
He made lifelong friends in Parksville, always making a point to drop in and catch up with them when he was in town. He also adored his Italian relatives and enjoyed visits overseas to spend time with them.
At age 21 he moved to Alberta, first living in Swan Hills and then in Whitecourt, working in the oil and gas industry. He made wonderful friends in Alberta and was known as a hard worker who raised the morale of the crews he worked with. A keen storyteller, he was always good for a laugh, and his large stature and gentle manner earned him the nickname Yetti Spaghetti.
An avid hunter, he created the show Real Canadian Joes, which he filmed, narrated and edited for four years. He was also infatuated with fly fishing and started Upstream Drift Company and East Mountain Bed & Breakfast. He was a father figure for four years to a beautiful little boy named Kaden whom he loved dearly.
Adriano taught himself to play the guitar and sang beautifully in both English and Italian. He was a fantastic uncle to niece Ava and nephew Lorenzo, trying hard to impress them and always making them giggle.
He moved back to the area recently after being in Alberta for 21 years. He spent some time with family on the Island and then moved to North Vancouver where he became a Superintendent at Pembina Vancouver Wharfs. He was recognized for bringing a positive energy to the position which he held for 6 weeks before passing.
Adriano made friends easily. He was generous, warm hearted and full of life. His loss is felt deeply by his loving parents, his brothers, his sister-in-law Pauline, by Angela, and by all of his friends and family near and far. This world has lost its Real Canadian Joe, and we are devastated by this overwhelming loss.
We know that Adriano is now at peace in the vast wilderness that he loved so much. His reassuring smile, his adventurous spirit and his joyful heart will stay with us always.
