Rip Repesse passed away peacefully on August 15, 2017 at The Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C. Rip’s life, love and memory will be forever celebrated by Florence, his loving wife of 72 years, his son Richard (Penny) Repesse of Lake Cowichan, daughter Gaile (Frank) Smith of Nelson, B.C., six grandchildren - Gerry, Rod, James, Troy, Amber and Doni, as well as 17 great-grandchildren. Rip was born in Nanaimo where he worked in the coal mines, and managed a service station prior to joining the Air Force during WWII. On his release he tried his hand at Fireman and Police Special Constable before settling into his 27 year career with The Motor Vehicle Branch, which took him from Nanaimo to Courtenay and finally Victoria where he retired in 1976 to pursue his passion for golf. Rip will be remembered by friends and sister in laws Margaret Mihalich and Winona Baker still residing in the Nanaimo area.
