Eddy passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 24, 2018 at the age of 85 in Port Alberni, BC. Predeceased by his first wife Regina Creuzberg and his grandson Nathan Taylor Warren, as well as all of his 11 siblings. Survived by his loving wife Margaret and his 3 children; daughter Lysa (Murray); sons David and John (Debra); as well as his granddaughter Sarah (Gordon).

Born in Cologne, Germany, Eddy immigrated to Canada in 1955. His family landed in Quebec City and took the train to Toronto, where they lived for three years. After hearing the saying "Go west, young man, go west," they decided to follow that advice which brought them to Port Alberni, where they fell in love with the mountains and the forests and never left again.

Eddy opened the Little Bavaria Restaurant in September of 1966, which he ran for 18 years. Afterwards, he briefly worked in another restaurant until opening an Orange Julius with Margaret in the Alberni Mall, until he finally retired at the age of 65. Eddy enjoyed landscape painting and was always inspired by nature around him, and of course, he loved cooking.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Alberni Hospice Society 3088 3rd Ave, Port Alberni, BC V9Y 2A5, Canada or the West Coast General Hospital Foundation 3949 Port Alberni Hwy, Port Alberni, BC, V9Y 4S1. A service will be held at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Parish on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM, followed by a burial at Greenwood Cemetery and memorial luncheon back at the church.
