Passed away peacefully on February 9, 2019. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Adele was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan, on January 17, 1929. After acquiring a teaching certificate in Victoria, Adele moved to Hedley in 1948 where she taught her first classes and where she met her husband, Edwin. After a few years in Hedley, they moved to the Cowichan Valley where she raised her children and continued her teaching career. She retired in 1983.

Adele was a very spiritual woman and her faith was always important to her. She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, the Catholic Women's League and the church choir. She served with a kind, loving heart.

Adele is survived by her family of five children: Ron (Lucy), Armela (Bruce), Joe (Jacquelyn), Theresa, Leonard; 10 grandchildren: Griffin, James, Veronica, David, Ryan, Alana, Chelsea, Caitlin, Eddi and Bennet; one great grandchild: Jayce; her sister Lorretta (Ted) and her brother Joe, as well as many nieces and nephews. Adele is predeceased by her loving husband, Edwin, and her daughter, Stephanie, as well as sisters and brothers.

Adele will be remembered as a loving, supportive mother, the "best Nana ever", a great friend and a very spiritual woman. When writing her story she stated that her most precious possessions were her children, grandchildren and her great grandson.

A Funeral Mass for Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 2085 Maple Bay Road, Duncan, BC. Flowers are gratefully declined. In support of her legacy to Edwin, donations in memory of Adele may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of BC.
