January 11, 1939 - July 21, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that announce the passing of Ada Avis Hancock. She now rests easy with her Lord. She will be dearly missed by her family and all of whom she has touched along her journey.
Ada was a determined and strong willed woman. She was a fighter. She fought to start a new life for herself and her family when she immigrated from New Zealand in 1970. She fought her way into a successful career in Real Estate when it wasn't so easy for a woman. She fought for what was right when others wouldn't. She was given 6 months to live in 2014 and fought a courageous fight, that gave us 6 more years. We couldn't be more proud.
Ada was predeceased by her husband John Francis Hancock of Campbell River in 2017, her Mother Lillian May Turner, Her Father William Glasgow and her brothers Bruce, Stan & Don Glasgow as well as Ned Turner, all of New Zealand.
Left to mourn her passing are her 3 children, Marie, Ken Clark (and Stacy) and Kent Clark (and Maribeth), 2 step children Craig(and Kathy) and Gail(and Paul),10 grand children- Jason Dobos (Alissa Patrick), Cheri Johnson (Chris), Christine Mooney (Jamie Flemming),Casey Clark (Natalie), Jeremy Tuttle, Miranda Lakes (Josh), Jon Clark, Chris Clark, Errol Petschauer, Garrett Petschauer, and 20 Great Grandchildren as well as her brother Robert in Australia.
With all of our hearts we want to thank the nurses at the Campbell River Hospital that gave our mother respect and kindness until the end. Blessings to you all.
