VicPD searches for suspicious black vehicle after hit and run

Victoria Police are looking for a hit-and-run suspect after the driver of a large black vehicle struck another vehicle travelling west in the 400-block of Bay Street on May 31.

After the incident, the suspect vehicle swiftly left the scene, travelling north in the 2500 block of Bridge Street.

The wanted vehicle owner appeared to be driving a black truck or SUV with front-end damage and a B.C. licence plate beginning with “MW.”

The victim of the hit and run suffered non-life threatening injuries and was assessed by B.C. Emergency Health Services paramedics at the scene.

Investigators are looking for anyone who was a witness or has dashcam footage of the collision or the suspect vehicle in the area of the collision to contact police.
