PREVIOUSLY POSTED: Police are looking for a Nanaimo woman wanted for alleged theft, breach of probation and failing to appear in court.

An arrest warrant was issued for 32-year-old Elisabeth Rose Gilbert after she missed a recent court date. The warrant stems from original charges of theft under $5,000 and breach of probation, according to a Nanaimo RCMP press release.

In late May, Gilbert, who police say has numerous prior convictions for theft, allegedly stole a number of items from a downtown grocery store. She was apprehended by a loss prevention officer and then released on an undertaking to appear in Nanaimo provincial court.

She is also accused of breaching probation after she went to a drugstore in the hospital area which contravened an earlier condition prohibiting her from going to that business.

Gilbert is 5-foot-6, 150 pounds. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file No. 2022-9686.
