UPDATE: One man in hospital following targeted shooting in Courtenay

On Dec. 12, at approximately 4:20 p.m., the Comox Valley RCMP responded to a report of a shooting at the 900 block of Salisbury Road in Courtenay.

Once on the scene, the Comox Valley RCMP located a 57-year-old Courtenay resident with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to local hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe the shooting was targeted.

There have been no arrests for this shooting at this time but the investigation is ongoing. The Comox Valley RCMP Major Crimes Section is heading the investigation with the assistance of the Police Dog Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section.
