Two girls were followed by a driver wearing a balaclava earlier this month in Nanaimo.

Nanaimo RCMP issued a press release today, June 16, advising about an incident that happened Sunday, June 5, at about 8 p.m.

RCMP say the two youths were walking along Rosstown Road when a small, dark-coloured car drove past, then twice pulled U-turns to drive past two more times. The girls reported that the driver was unknown to them and was wearing a green balaclava.

“The girls became concerned for their safety [and] decided to run toward a path that had a gate which would could not be accessed by the vehicle,” the release noted.
