A crash and downed pole closed a north segment of Quadra Street early Thursday.

Saanich police were called for a single-vehicle crash in the 4100 block of Quadra at 4:40 a.m. and arrived to find the driver had left the scene, Saanich police told Black Press Media.

The crash severed a power pole and police closed Quadra from Ambassador Avenue to Rogers Avenue. They cleared the scene around 8:30 a.m.

“The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and while police have spoken to the owner of the vehicle, the driver has yet to be identified,” said Const. Markus Anastasiades.
