Three taken to hospital after serious crash in north Nanaimo

Jaws of Life used to remove one person from vehicle after collision at Uplands Drive and Oliver Road

First responders used the Jaws of Life to remove a driver from a vehicle in north Nanaimo this morning.

Firefighters, RCMP and paramedics are on scene at a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Uplands Drive and Oliver Road a little after 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to reports, three people were taken to hospital, including one with the use of the Jaws of Life.

A muscle car and a pickup truck were wrecked in the crash and a compact car was also clipped.

The intersection is closed.
