A small wildfire in Strathcona Provincial Park is currently being held and is not growing in size notes the BC Wildfire Service.

Julia Caranci, a fire information officer for the Coastal Fire Centre said there is a small spot fire near Cream Creek that was first discovered on Sept. 3.

Currently, it is 10m x 10m in size within the park, and while the fire service is in communication with BC Parks, Caranci confirmed they are not actioning the fire.

“We believe it is a holdover from a lightning strike that has been smoldering. There is no immediate threat to any structure,” she added.
