Mike Menard is the new president of the Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce.

The owner of Menard Plumbing and Heating was sworn in to the board’s top position on Jan. 25, taking over from Karen Mason, who held the position since 2020.

Menard has served on the chamber board for two years and served as vice-president in 2021.

He has more than 30 years of experience in his field with a family heritage in plumbing and heating dating back to his grandfather who started his first heating and plumbing company in 1937.

Menard believes that every problem has a solution, and that’s a philosophy he brings with him as the new president of the chamber of commerce.

Other members of the board include Karen Mason, past-president (Mason Financial); Tim Ayres (Royal LePage Coast Capital Realty), Les Haddad (Sooke Delivery Guy), Bev Petow (Sooke News Mirror and Petow Design), Deb Schenk (In Shore Fishing Charters), Tracy Snow (Sooke Optometrist), and Brian White (Royal Roads University).
