An early morning single motor vehicle incident temporarily closed the Island Highway between Campbell River and the North Island’s tri-Port hub this morning.
The crash blocked Highway 19 near the Gold Creek bridge about 10 kilometres from the Woss junction for awhile, but DriveBC reported the route open to single lane alternating traffic shortly after 9 a.m.
That situation remained in place for most of the day. DriveBC said the route had returned to normal before 7 p.m.
Port McNeill RCMP Const. Marcus Croy noted the driver had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Campbell River hospital.
Croy confirmed there was no criminality involved in the incident.
