Salter, Wallace elected again as electoral area directors for Regional District of Nanaimo

Fellow PQB region directors Rogers, McLean acclaimed

Leanne Salter and Lehann Wallace have been re-elected as electoral area directors in the Regional District of Nanaimo.

Salter topped the polls for Electoral Area F (Coombs, Hilliers, Errington), earning 578 votes (55.8 per cent) to 458 votes (44.2 per cent) for challenger Kevin Goldfuss.

Wallace received 986 votes ( 75.4 per cent) in the Electoral Area G (Dashwood, Englishman River, French Creek) race, outdistancing challenger Doug Kitts, who finished with 322 votes (24.6 per cent).

Bob Rogers in Area E (Nanoose) and Stuart McLean in Electoral Area H (Shaw Hill, Deep Bay, Bowser) were returned via acclamation.

The official election results will be declared on Oct. 19.

In School District 69, Barry Kurland was elected as a trustee in Area H, defeating Alissa Woodward 50 votes to 34.

In Area G, Elaine Young was the top vote-getter with 4,281 and was elected along with Carol Kellogg (3,196).

Eve Flynn was elected in Area E, defeating Philip Perry 198 to 150.
