Saanich Peninsula Hospital diverts ambulances to VGH due to critical staffing

Diversion began on Dec. 30 to Victoria General Hospital’s emergency department

Saanich Peninsula Hospital announced that their emergency department will be on diversion for all ambulances into the first few days of the New Year.

Due to critical staffing at the site, diversion began on Dec. 30 to Victoria General Hospital’s (VGH) emergency department and will continue until Jan. 4 at noon, an employee with Island Health confirmed to Black Press Media.

BC Patient Transfer Network and BC Ambulance Service have been notified and will support patient transport requirements as necessary.
