According to a police press release, Dylan McKay has had no contact with his immediate family since Jan. 1, which is out of character for him. His family and friends are concerned for his well-being, say police.

McKay was reported missing to the Nanaimo RCMP on Feb. 12.

McKay has no cell phone and is currently of no fixed address. He is described as an outdoorsman who spends much of his time living in tents and open spaces and frequents Nanaimo, Gabriola and Valdes Island.

He is 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, with brown hair, a beard and brown eyes.

Anyone has information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file No. 2022-4933.
