PQB crime report: Vehicle reported stolen in Parksville, recovered in Nanaimo

Oceanside RCMP receive 187 complaints in one-week period

Oceanside RCMP received 187 complaints the week of Dec. 26 to Jan. 1.

Some of the incidents included:

Dec. 26

A vehicle was reported stolen in the 1000 block of Herring Gull Way, Parksville. Vehicle was recovered in Nanaimo on Dec. 29.

A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 4500 block of Callow road, Bowser6. Two tires were noted slashed and damage reported to roof.

A business break-and-enter was reported in the 400 block of Island Highway East, Parksville. A male was arrested nearby.

A Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) duffel bag containing ski gear was reported to have fallen from a vehicle in the area of Chef Creek, Island Highway.

Dec. 27

A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 200 block of Moilliet Street South, Parksville. The windshield was reported cracked and a wiper blade damaged.

Dec. 28

A vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 300 block of Morison Avenue, Parksville. Two subjects were captured on video surveillance.

Dec. 29

A grey Supercycle Storm Girls mountain bike was found in the 1200 block of Taylor road, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

A catalytic converter as reported stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of Island Highway East., Parksville.

A silver Norco street bike was found in the 800 block of Jones Street, Qualicum Beach. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

A green cast iron table and chairs were reported stolen in the 100 block of Morison Avenue, Parksville.

Dec. 30

Two downriggers were reported stolen from a vessel moored in the 1000 block of Lee Road, Parksville.

Jan. 1

Damage was reported in a vestibule of a business caused by a small fire in the 100 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville.
