PQB crime report: Porch pirate pilfers package in Nanoose Bay

Oceanside RCMP received 308 complaints the week of July 18 to July 24.

Some of the incidents included:

July 18

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 500 block of Sycamore Drive, Qualicum Beach.

• A white Specialized bicycle was found in the area of Bennett Road and View Road, Qualicum Beach. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 700 block of Ironwood Avenue, Parksville.

• Alberta licence plate BXM0581 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Beachside Drive, Parksville.

• Private property signs were reported stolen from a property in the 800 block of Drew Road, Parksville.

• A blue Norco Touring Bike was reported stolen in the 1100 block of Resort Drive, Parksville.

• A vehicle back window was reported smashed in the 100 block of Island Highway West, Parksville.

July 19

• A glove containing jewelry was found in the 200 block of McVickers Street, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• An iPhone was found in the Columbia Beach area of Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• A parcel dropped off by a courier was reported stolen in the 1900 block of Eagle Ridge Place, Nanoose Bay.

July 20

• A dumpster was found smouldering in the 100 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on July 20.

• A male prowler was reported to have damaged security equipment at a public works compound in the 1200 block of Chattel Road, Parksville.

• A camp stove, solar panel and battery packs were some of the items reported stolen form a vehicle in the 1300 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville.

July 21

• A compressor was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1600 block of Acadia Road, Nanoose Bay.

• A shed break-and-enter was reported in the 100 block of Mills Street, Parksville. An older Norco mountain bike was noted missing.

• A vehicle window was reported smashed in the 400 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville.

• Two Scotty downriggers were reported stolen from a property in the 1600 block of Grafton Avenue, Errington.

July 22

• An attempted break-and-enter of a storage container was reported in the 100 block of Pym Street North, Parksville. The lock was noted damaged.

• A B.C. 2021 validation sticker was reported stolen form a vehicle in the 100 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

• An older red road bike and a black and blue mountain bike were found in the 400 block of Bay Avenue, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

July 23

• A portable toilet was reported to have been set on fire in the 100 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.
