A Colwood man is facing break-and-enter, robbery and assault charges following a home invasion on Saturday in Sooke.

RCMP responded to an incident in the 6100 block of Sooke Road at 2:05 a.m.

Police found a man who was severely beaten and suffering from injuries to his face and head. He was transported to hospital and is now at home recovering, RCMP Staff Sgt. Jeff McArthur stated in a press release.

Gregory Brotherston, 38, is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, and break and enter with intent to commit assault. He’ll make his first court appearance on Thursday (Feb. 21).

A second man was with Brotherston during the home invasion.

“There is no further description beyond that the second suspect is male, possibly Caucasian,” McArthur said, adding the suspects are believed to have arrived and left the crime scene in a vehicle. No vehicle description was available.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 250-642-5241 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
