Police ask public for tips in case of truck smashing into Cowichan liquor store and stealing ATM

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are asking for any information people might have about a truck that smashed into Cowichan Liquor Store and stole an ATM last summer.

The unusual B&E happening in the early morning hours of June 9.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., video surveillance shows a maroon (dark red) coloured Ford truck back into the store, breaking the glass and gaining access.

Once in the store, two unknown people strapped the ATM to the truck.

The truck then pulled away, dragging the ATM behind it causing thousands of dollars in damage along the way.

The ATM was never located.

Police are asking that anyone who may have information about the truck used, the unknown people or if you were in the area during this time or noticed anything suspicious to please contact the RCMP at 250-748-5522 and refer to file 2020-8783.
