The water leak at Swartz Bay ferry terminal, which forced BC Ferries staff to close off its washrooms and foodservice, was resolved around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Crews had worked throughout the day to fix the pipes and restore the terminal’s facilities, BC Ferries communications director Deborah Marshal told Black Press. BC Ferries was grateful for their passenger’s patience in using temporary portable washrooms, she said.

Passengers were forced to sit tight for a few hours Wednesday morning while BC Ferries delivered portable washrooms to the Victoria terminal. At 12:30 p.m. the transportation company said the temporary toilets had arrived and were available throughout the terminal.
