PHOTOS: Winter Wonderland in the West Shore

Around 10 centimetres of snow fell on the West Shore over Christmas and Boxing Day

Victoria’s White Christmas continued into Boxing Day for many areas, especially the West Shore, as snow continued falling into Boxing Day.

Snow ploughs were out in force trying to clear some of that snown that had accumulated on roads throughout the West Shore, Environment Canada having forecasted around 10 centimetres.

An arctic outflow warning was also issued for the Greater Victoria area and much of the province, pushing down temperatures. Arctic outflow winds saw wind-chill temperatures potentialy falling below minus 20 degrees Celsius in some areas of B.C., with those conditions set to continue until Wednesday, Dec. 29. The federal government also issued advice on how to avoid frost bite.

Despite the chill, dozens of families flocked to the hills at Wishart Elementary School for a spot of Boxing Day tobogganing.
