PHOTOS: Investigation continues into massive blaze at Parksville Heritage Centre

Six businesses razed by blaze

A major fire at the Parksville Heritage Centre on Nov. 9 razed six businesses.

The cause of the fire, which started at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night and was battled through the night by firefighters, is still under investigation.

The Parksville Fire Department were first at the scene and were later assisted by fire departments from Qualicum Beach, Errington, Nanoose, Coombs-Hilliers and Dashwood. It was a massive task for the firefighers, who encountered challenges with the structure of the aging building, which made their job even more difficult.

The businesses impacted were La Belle Parksville, British Bobby restaurant, Upward Refillery and NextGen Automation, the Heritage Animal Hospital and the Parksville Qualicum Beach News.
