A prolific Parksville Qualicum Beach graffiti tagger was nabbed by police again for allegedly defacing a sign at a restaurant in Parksville.
On Sept. 19 at 7:20 p.m., a plainclothes member of the Oceanside RCMP reportedly caught a tagger in action and apprehended him.
Tyler John McKinstry, 24, was arrested for mischief as well as breaching his court imposed conditions, which included not being in possession of any material suitable for producing graffiti.

The conditions stemmed from a prior arrest after McKinstry was linked to spray painting and leaving his tag on property all over the Parksville Qualicum Beach area.
He was caught March 12 for allegedly posting his tag “RONES” on private property in the area. He was apprehended again for another tagging incident on April 11 at a French Creek Church.
McKinstry makes his next appearance in Nanaimo Provincial Court on Oct. 2.
“Tagging costs the tax payers thousands of dollars and makes our surroundings unsightly,” said Oceanside RCMP Staff Sgt. Marc Pelletier. “It’s important that we identify those responsible and hold them to account.”
