Jesse and Violet Bennett, still sought by RCMP, may now be travelling in a truck, not a Honda Civic, according to police.

The father and daughter were last seen on Jan. 23 when Violet was not returned to her mother’s custody as directed by the court.

“Investigators no longer believe that Jesse and Violet are travelling in the Honda Civic and may be associated to a different vehicle,” said Sgt. Trevor Busch of the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP. “Investigators are now looking for a 2001 black Dodge Dakota Sport club cab with a white canopy.”

Police have no description of the licence plate attached to the vehicle.

Mounties have also released details about the two missing persons: a unique white and black coat the young girl wears, as well as a distinctive tattoo on her father’s right arm.

“Investigators continue to follow up on each and every tip that relates to this investigation,” said police.

Those with information about the pair’s whereabouts, or those who see a vehicle matching the description of the truck are asked to call their local police or the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522.
