NDP party leader Jagmeet Singh will be making a fews stops on Vancouver Island next week, including his first stops in a coouple Island communities.
Singh is visiting at the invitation of Alberni District Secondary School’s Model UN Club.
He will be addressing students on Tuesday, March 6 at 9:15 a.m. in the ADSS theatre.
Limited seating will be available to members of the general public who are interested in attending, although seating priority will be given to students.
“I am very proud to introduce Jagmeet to students and other community members on his first visit to the Alberni Valley and to to give everybody a chance to hear about his amazing journey,” said Gord Johns, NDP MP for Courtenay-Alberni.
The visit comes a day after his first trip to Courtenay, which will include a a free public meeting set for the Florence Filberg Centre on Monday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
“MP Rachel Blaney and I are beyond excited to welcome Jagmeet to the Comox Valley and to give everybody a chance to meet him and hear about his bold vision for Canada,” said Gord Johns, NDP MP for Courtenay-Alberni.
Singh was elected as NDP Leader by in October and is currently travelling across Canada. His desire is to hear directly about issues that are important to Canadians and their communities, according to a press release.
