Nanaimo RCMP are looking for witnesses to a road rage incident that happened in north Nanaimo.

According to police, the incident unfolded at about 6:45 p.m. April 3, when a silver compact vehicle, driven by a man in his 40s, and a black pickup truck driven by a man in his 30s, were travelling east on Rutherford Road between Brookfield Drive and Oliver Road. Both drivers were trying to merge into a single lane.

Police say the car was ahead of the pickup when the driver of the car stopped. The driver of the pickup truck stopped as well and got out of his truck. The two drivers then had a verbal argument, which briefly escalated into a physical altercation before they parted ways and continued on without further incident according to police.

There were no reported injuries and neither driver had a passenger with him.
