Nanaimo RCMP investigate series of bike thefts

Unsolved crime report asks if members of the public can offer any tips to assist police

Nanaimo RCMP are hoping members of the public might be able to help with tips regarding a number of unsolved bike thefts this month.

According to an RCMP press release, two women’s Norco mountain bikes, one blue and one purple, were stolen from the front of a home in the 6000 block of Doumont Road on April 8. No serial numbers were available.

The day before, between 4:30-5:30 p.m., a thief stole a black Davinci 21 from a bike stand in front of the Dollarama store at Terminal Park Mall.

Also, on April 3 between 3-4 p.m., a grey Roam mountain bike with saddle bags and gel seat was stolen from a bike stand in front of Save-On-Foods at Country Club Centre. The bike, with serial No. 4712878168671, was locked and registered with Project 529.
