Man rescued from water at Esquimalt boat launch

Police looking for Good Samaritans who helped him back to launch

One man has been taken to hospital after being rescued from the water off MacAulay Point Park boat launch.

Police say a couple were pulling their own boat out of the water at the launch when they noticed a man in his 40s struggling in the water. They jumped into action, grabbing his hand and pulling him back to the ramp.

Another woman came along and phoned 911.

The man was taken to hospital and his condition is unknown.

Police are looking for the couple who helped the man by helping him back to the ramp.

The incident is under investigation.
