A couple from Saltspring Island has found a lost pouch of sentimental items — they’re hoping to return the lost items to the owner as soon as possible.

At around 10 a.m. on November 4, Thomas Brainerd found a purple velvet bag on the ground outside Save On Gas at 1111 1st Avenue in Ladysmith. Brainerd believes the bag was left over night, as it was wet when he recovered it.

The bag contains items of high sentimental value: a vial of ashes, a rosary, a watch, and other items. There is also an inscription on the inside of the vial.

Some of the items are slightly damaged, as it appears the bag was run over by a passing vehicle. None of the items are irreparably damaged.

Brainerd said that the owner can contact him at 250-538-7012 to recover the items.
