Heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine seized in Duncan drug bust

Duncan RCMP targeting drug dealers

Drugs were seized and stolen property recovered after North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP’s specialized enforcement unit executed a search warrant at a Queens Street address in Duncan on June 6.

Police wanted to search the house for evidence to support their belief that drug trafficking was being conducted there.

Among their findings were large quantities of suspected heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, cash and other instruments used to traffic drugs, as well as stolen bicycles and chain saws.

Police also found three people at the scene and went on to arrest two of the three. Chris James Strong, 35 and Miranda Mary Motherwell, 29, were held in custody and have since been charged with possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

Additional charges may be added later.

“We have no tolerance to those trafficking drugs in the Cowichan Valley,” said Staff Sgt. Kurt Bosnell, the detachment’s plain clothes commander. “If you are a drug dealer, rest assured you will be targeted by our investigators.”
