The Campbell River Storm may have lost 4-3 in a shootout on Friday night, but the biggest thing to happen at Strathcona Gardens that night happened off the ice.
During the contest at Strathcona Gardens, the RCMP say a youth male was seen reportedly carrying a handgun in a place that was away from the arena.
Campbell River RCMP responded with a quick and heavy presence to Strathcona Gardens. The suspects were detained. It was then determined the weapon the suspect was carrying was not a gun.
One youth was arrested.
A second incident involving a group of teenagers took place nearby the arena. It involved a dispute between the youth and an adult who was unhappy about their alleged behaviour.
According to the RCMP, that incident is still under investigation.
