The Perfect Storm Group is seeking proposals for the development of a feasibility study for an ‘Oceanside Campus of Healthcare.’
The group, which is a collection of concerned community members and stakeholders, is working with the town of Qualicum Beach, which is funding the study.
“The timing for the posting of this RFP is perfect,” said Marlys Diamond, chair of the Perfect Storm Group, in a press release. “The concept of the Oceanside Campus of Healthcare envisioned innovative changes to healthcare. The advent of COVID-19 has brought about considerable change so that the healthcare of the future will have a very different approach.”
The concept for the campus is a “community-owned and operated primary care facility with a focus on innovative practices, and medical education facilitated by a multi-disciplinary team of medical professionals.”
The area’s doctor shortage is a hot-button issue, especially because of the older population in the PQB area.
More information about the feasibility study, as well as the group in general, can be found at perfectstormgroup.ca.
