Duncan fire department quickly deals with house fire

Fire bought under control in an hour, now under investigation

Two fire trucks from the Duncan fire hall and their crews spent about an hour on Tuesday afternoon dealing with a fire in an abandoned house on Ypres Street.

Smoke could be seen coming out of the eaves of the building before firefighters entered the rear of the house and focused their hoses on the attic area.

About a half hour after that, the smoke ceased coming out of the house and a firefighter acknowledged they believed the fire was under control.

Although an ambulance was on site, there appeared to be no injuries as a result of the incident.

The fire is under investigation.
