Woodgrove Centre has it all – even COVID-19 vaccine.

Island Health announced in a press release that it has opened a temporary walk-in immunization clinic at Woodgrove Centre where anyone 12 and older can receive a first dose of an mRNA vaccine.

The temporary clinic is set up next to La Senza in the space previously occupied by Le Château.

Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 2-6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Island Health says the closing date will depend on uptake.

In addition to the Woodgrove clinic, a limited number of first-dose walk-in appointments are available each day at exisiting immunization clinics including Beban Park.

Those who are eligible for a second dose of vaccine must book their appointments; for information, visit www.getvaccinated.gov.bc.ca.

According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control, 74 per cent of people 12 and over in the Greater Nanaimo local health area had received at least one dose of vaccine as of June 17.
