Construction on Sooke Road has been underway for more than a month, and the Transportation Ministry says things are going smoothly.

They expect the three new bus pullouts to be functioning by the end of March, and to have transit shelters installed by late spring.

Corridor lighting is also being installed, which the ministry expected to be finsihed by the end of May.

“Designs are still underway for other projects including safety signs, the bus queue jump, the new bridge on Gillespie Road, the slow moving vehicle pullout, and the rest area,” said the ministry in a statement.

“More information on the timelines for these projects should be available by late spring.”

The ministry says it’s committed to ensuring traffic delays related to construction are kept minimal, especially during periods when there are high-volumes of commuters.
