The Urgent Care Centre in Chemainus will be closed for two days during the first half of December.

Physician availability remains an issue, with Island Health announcing closure dates for Dec. 11 and 15.

Those requiring care during that time are being directed to the Ladysmith Community Health Centre or the Cowichan District Hospital.

Island Health said it is continuing to work on securing additional physician coverage that may result in changes to the operating hours.

Residents can call 250-737-2040, Ext. 42227, or check for updates on the Island Health website.

Regular hours from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. will remain in effect for Dec. 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 12. Limited hours with openings from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. are on Dec. 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 13 and 14.

During this time, laboratory and medical imaging services will continue as usual.
