Island entrepreneurs aspiring to appear on CBC TV show Dragons’ Den will have a chance in mid February.
The show sees people pitching their business ideas in front of a panel, asking for investment and the panel members, or Dragons, deciding for or against providing capital. A cross-country audition tour will stop in Nanaimo on Feb. 15 in the Shaw Auditorium at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
“The audition tour welcomes participants of all ages, with businesses at any stage of development,” said a press release. “Hopeful entrepreneurs should prepare to pitch their concept to the Dragons’ Den producers in five minutes or less. If they show the producers they have what it takes to pitch in the den, they could be invited to Toronto to face the Dragons.”
People wanting to make a pitch are asked to fill out an online application and bring it to the audition.
A second round of Island auditions is scheduled for March 10 in Victoria at 728 Humboldt Street at Marriott Victoria Inner Harbour in the Pacific Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
