Highway 4 is now open after a nearly four-hour closure due to a vehicle incident.
Drive BC reported at 1:42 p.m. that the highway, near the Coombs Junction, is open. Delays are expected due to earlier congestion.
Drive BC first reported Monday (Feb. 26) at 9:51 a.m. that the highway was closed five kilometres west of the Coombs Junction with Highway 4A, near Brittain Road.
Highway 4 near the Coombs Junction was closed closed in both directions, with an estimated reopening set for 2 p.m. Employees at business along Highway 4 near the accident scene reported long lines of traffic extending both directions from the scene.
Highway crews initially reopened Highway 4 to intermittent traffic following a the incident.

First responders were on scene; no reports are available yet on the condition of passengers involved.
