Some in Greater Victoria may have felt a nearby earthquake early in the morning on Tuesday (May 23).
The 3.1-magnitude earthquake hit at 12:21 a.m. PT around Camano Island in Washington State, with the epicentre about 60 kilometers southeast of Victoria.
The United States Geological Service measured the origin of the quake at a depth of about 60 kilometres. The Geological Service’s portal showed that 24 people said they felt the quake as of Tuesday afternoon, with at least one response coming from Victoria.
