Man arrested, weapons seized after shots heard in Campbell River park

Three firearms were seized; investigation is ongoing

A Campbell River man is facing charges after a weekend incident in Nunn’s Creek Park.

On Sept. 16, around 2 p.m., RCMP received calls of shots being fired within the park, which is located at 1465 16 Avenue.

Officers responded with assistance from the K-9 Unit as well as officers from the B.C. Highway Patrol.

With many people located within the area, one man attempted to hide in the park from police. The individual was quickly found with a cache of weapons.

Three firearms as well as ammunition were seized.

The 33-year-old was arrested at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
