Tom Cochrane and Red Rider to perform in View Royal

Renovated gaming and dining options to open later this month at Elements Casino

Canadian rock icon and eight-time Juno Award winner Tom Cochrane and Red Rider are scheduled to perform on the new stage in View Royal at Elements Casino Victoria with tickets going on sale later this month.

Celebrating the grand opening of the renovated and expanded casino, Cochrane is scheduled to perform on May 5.

“We are thrilled and excited to welcome our guests and the community to the grand opening celebration and showcase the multi-million dollar redevelopment we have been focused on for the past twelve months,” said Chris Lynn, executive director of Vancouver Island casino operations for the Great Canadian Gaming Corp., in a statement.

“I am confident that with all the new offerings, Elements Casino Victoria will quickly become a major entertainment hub for the whole lower Island marketplace.”

Cochrane and Red Rider will be the first artists on the new stage in the Platinum Room, which is a 500-person entertainment space equipped to host a variety of acts.

Other upgrades to the facility include a 70,000-square-foot gaming floor with approximately 800 slot machines and roughly 25 table games.

“For those who would like to get a sneak peek of the facility prior to May 5, Elements Casino Victoria will have gaming and dining amenities available by late March,” Lynn added.

Upgraded dining options include a new restaurant called The Well Public House, a pub and bar serving casual favourites and a buffet as well as Chi Express specializing in Asian cuisine and noodle bowls, and 1708 Quick Bites specializing in customized burgers.

“Introducing Elements Casino Victoria to the Great Canadian family of properties will be a momentous occasion for us as the new venue will be in the ranks of River Rock Casino Resort, Hard Rock Casino Vancouver and Elements Casino in Surrey,” said Raj Mutti, Great Canadian’s vice president operations west.

Tickets for Cochrane and Red Rider go on sale March 16 through ticketmaster.com.
