This Halloween, the music from iconic movies is coming live to the Comox Valley—and the Strathcona Symphony Orchestra is dressing in costume for the occasion.

From Jurassic Park to James Bond, Harry Potter to Indiana Jones, your local community orchestra has been preparing classic movie favourites to share with you. Featuring special guests, Caring Clowns of the Comox Valley, and solos on the sopranino recorder, French horn, and violin, “Movie Masquerade” is an event to treasure!

The shows take place Saturday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. at the Native Sons Hall in Courtenay. Ticket-holders are invited to dress up in costume, too (there’s a prize for the best costume).

Tickets are available at https://bit.ly/3n2KDra $25 for adults, $15 for children ages 12 and under. (Online sales only, please contact strathconasymphonytickets@gmail.com with questions.)

The SSO follows public health protocols, which require all audience members to wear masks, and to present BC COVID-19 vaccine passport (age 12 and up) plus photo ID (age 19 and up).

Please purchase tickets in advance online and arrive 20 minutes before concert start time with proof of vaccination and I.D. ready, to allow volunteers sufficient time to check each audience member in. Doors open 30 minutes before concert start time.

With music from Star Wars, Frozen, Titanic, Pink Panther, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Superman—and even the Lone Ranger, “Movie Masquerade” is sure to please audiences of all ages.
