A battle of wits and laughs is taking over the Royal Theatre in November.

The Debaters are setting up the soapboxes Tuesday, Nov. 19 for The Debaters Live on Tour.

Steve Patterson is the moderator for two ridiculous debates between Canadian comedians DeAnne Smith and Graham Chittenden, along with three separate standups. Each comedian will truly put their wits to the test, as the show is known to tackle subjects like is cake better than pie? Or is GPS really necessary?

For this winter tour, audience members can expect more festive and holiday-themed questions, all meant to put theatre-goers in stitches. Each show is unique, with new inquiries put forth each show on their cross-country tour.

Patterson has been with The Debaters since 2007, with the show running live in 2012. Chittenden is a Just for Laughs veteran, while also writing for Canadian comedy shows Mr. D and Still Standing. Smith, who rose to fame with her viral hit “Straight men need to up their game,” has since toured from Canada to New Zealand, along with having her own Netflix comedy special, Gentleman Elf.

Tickets start at $46.50. To pick them up online or find more information, check out the Royal and McPherson online at rmts.bc.ca, or call 250-386-6121.
