To kick off their Red Kingdom Tour, Hoodstock Entertainment will hit the stage at Nanaimo’s Vancouver Island Exhibition.

Nanaimo rapper Sirreal takes the stage as part of the entertainment lineup Friday, Aug. 26, at 5 p.m., next to fellow local rapper Details.

According to a release for the tour, Sirreal, real name Matt Dunae, released his latest album, The Red Album, in September 2021, while co-headliner Details, real name Darcy McBride, is set to drop his third studio album, Kingdom, on Aug. 26.

“And so the Red Kingdom Tour was born,” noted the release, which remarked it is their biggest tour yet.

Joining them across B.C. will be Toronto-born artist Revron, Comox Valley artist Oktiv6, Sirreal’s 13-year-old son Lower Case g, and DJs Benny the Jett and Bloke 1, while “adding fresh local acts to the roster at every stop,” noted the release.

Sirreal and special guests will offer fans a show that promises “epic lyricists, killer beats and a blast of high energy.”

“After crazy times, musicians and audiences are looking forward to being part of live shows again,” said Details in the release.

“Join us for the Red Kingdom Tour,” added Sirreal. “And we will bring audiences a performance like they’ve never experienced.”

According to the tour’s publicist, a second all-ages show is planned for Nanaimo on Sept. 24, where ticket info will soon be available. Sirreal can also be caught opening for rap legends Redman and Method Man in Vancouver on Nov. 10.
