Fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race are in for a treat in January, as not one, but two shows featuring drag stars from the popular show take over the Royal Theatre for a pair of evenings of musical fun and entertainment.

On Friday, Jan. 10, Seattle-based drag superstar BenDeLaCreme hosts the Vivacious Variety Show, including award-winning Boylesque troupe Mod Carousel from Seattle, and many other local and regional drag talents.

Local drag star Persi Flage is among the performers at the Jan. 23 show It's Just a Drag, at the Royal Theatre.

As well as appearing on two seasons of the Emmy Award-winning RuPaul’s Drag Race – she won Miss Congeniality in Season 6 and earned the most challenge wins in series history on the All Stars episodes – BenDeLaCreme has been a busy performer the past decade. She has toured the world, premiered three critically acclaimed solo shows off-Broadway, and written, directed or produced numerous narrative works and variety spectaculars that have frequently sell out venues.

On Thursday, Jan. 23 at 9 p.m., Rupaul’s Drag Race veteran Brooke Lynn Hytes and All Stars 4 winner Monet X Change star in It’s Just a Drag.

The show also includes the Canadian touring cast of Priyanka, Tynomi Banks, Juice Boxx, Justine Tyme, Kendall Gender, Gia Metric, PM, Continental Breakfast, Bibi SouPhresh and Tiffany Ann Co., as well as performances by local drag stars Persi Flage, Henrietta Dubet, Lola Maneata, Shelita Cox and Vivian Vanderpuss.

Tickets for the BenDeLaCreme show (16-over only) start at $70, while tickets for It’s Just a Drag start at $30. Both are available online at rmts.bc.ca, by phone at 250-386-6121 or at the Royal box office.
