The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria Art Rentals and Sales program presents COVID Creations, a selection of new work created during the quarantine by emerging and established local artists.

The COVID Creations Show & Sale can be found online at aggv.ca and on display in the Massey Sales Gallery until October 17.

The pandemic has posed our entire community with the challenge of isolation. During lockdown, many people have sought to find new ways to nurture themselves through baking or picking up a new hobby. Likewise, for artists, this meant finding solace in their art and drawing inspiration from their time spent in solitude.

COVID Creations Show & Sale will feature new, innovative works created during quarantine. Whether artists experimented with new mediums given the lack of access to art supplies, or new subject matter in response to the global crisis, all works reflect individual responses from the heart. There is even a portrait expressing gratitude to Dr. Bonnie Henry. This dynamic show celebrates the catharsis of creating art.

The show features works by 34 artists, including Chris Kazeil, Chin Yuen, Ken Horn, Louise Monfette, Kristofer Parley, Kimberley Kohan, Sally Chupick, Sandra Froher, Ed Kajdasz, Maureen Maryka, Linny D Vine, Irma Soltonovich, Chris Alers, Susan McGillivray, Ed Hughes, Dennis Brown, Leonard Butt, Karina Kalvaitis, Steve Gordon, Adam Noonan, Chintan Bolliger, Cindy McMath, Bill Hibberd, Sandy Voldeng, Iola Scott, Angela Montanti, Leslie Gregory-Morgan, Diane McCarten, Michelle Miller, Susan Geddes, Kathleen Schmalz, Nancy Slaght, Tanta Pennington and Janet Brooks.

Works are available for purchase online or in-person at the Massey Sales Gallery.
