Best of the 2019 Victoria Fringe Festival revisited

With the 2019 Victoria Fringe Festival in the books, Intrepid Theatre is giving another shout out to the performers chosen by audience members in the annual Pick of the Fringe awards.

Josephine, stunningly performed by Tymisha Harris with the Florida-based Dynamite Lunchbox company, led the way earning overall favourite show and solo show, plus favourite performer honours for Harris.

Other multiple winners included GRL PWR: A Musical History of 90s Girl Group Feminism, the Spice Girls-inspired musical piece from Victoria’s Salty Broad Productions (favourite cabaret/variety/musical; favourite ensemble); Summer Bucket List from Victoria’s Collectivus Theatre (favourite drama; favourite original new work), and Into the Tango by Pointe Tango (favourite dance/physical theatre/puppetry; favourite duo).

Victoria’s GRL PWR: A Musical History of 90s Girl Group Feminism earned favourite cabaret/variety/musical and favourite ensemble honours in the Pick of the Fringe awards for 2019.

This year’s saw 47 shows produced and performed, and approximately 250 volunteers help power the Fringe. The Volunteer of the Year award went to Matt Garvey, while the Spirit of the Fringe winner was Chris Gabel.
